Drummond McCulloch

Drummond currently works as a PhD fellow at the Neurobiology Research Unit in Copenhagen and is part of the Neurograd PhD school at the University of Copenhagen. His research responsibilities are to coordinate and conduct GCP controlled clinical trials investigating the occupancy of LSD at the 5-HT2A receptor using positron emission tomography, and persisting effects of a high dose of psilocybin using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). He also performs analyses of fMRI data collected during psychedelic experiences to determine the neural correlates of these.Drummond's previous articles have included a pilot study investigating the persisting effects of psychedelics on function brain network organisation and a quantitative and qualitative investigation of psilocybin-induced mystical-type experiences. His goal is to use clinical neuroimaging to develop and optimise psychedelic-based treatments to improve patient outcomes. He is also the secretary for the ECNP Psychedelic transnosological working group, which works to increase collaboration across the field.
